Dan Före Dan Före Dopparedan

Just went home after an other great Christmas party. This time I was in charge of it together with my classmates. We had a Christmas party for Nordicas staff. We made it so good it nearly felt like we were celebrating in Sweden.

We ate "Janssons frästelse" (or "Janssons temptation" as Louise use to say), meatballs, mini- sausage (I shuld´nt call it "Prince-sausage" like we call it in Swedish, right?), Swedish Glögg, egg with mayonnaise and dill, gingerbread... yea, you got it. We made a rythm- competition for some Christmas presents. We made a Christmas Quiz. We watched "Donald Duck´s Christmas". . . thats a mix of difrent english cartoon TV-program which every Swedish family watch at 15.00 every single Christmas.I know its kind of a strange Christmas tradition, but everyone does it. Its fun! Oh, guess what; we even got visited by Santa Clause himself.

 Happy Eating People Everywhere

I got the best job; to watch Donald Duck´s Christmas with all the kids.
There was not just kids in from of the TV in the end thou. . .

Food. I like food.

Extra zooming on the beautiful eggs with mayonaise and dill.
Made by a proud Olivia Alteryd.

Snax. I like snax.

Santa Clause

Thats all about the Christmas Party for Staff
. . .

I also want to mention how sweet our nany is She left a present in our citchen after cleaning our apartment today. Beautiful flowers and homemade cookies that her daughter had made. HOW CUTE IS THAT!?!?
She´s the best.

Thats all about The Sweet Nany.
. . .

And now the bad news; Ive got a cold and my throat is burning like fire every time Im talking. That is kind of stressful while Im supose to sing solo on our Christmas performance at Nordica on Monday evening and sing a duett with John in the church after that in front of nearly 3000 people and TV. 3000people and TV! 3000 PEOPLE AND TV!! Im not sure how that happen? Its crazy, nearly too crazy for a girl like me. I didnt even know Im a singer? Am I not a dancer? Gosh, I need to be able to sing on Monday, at least be able to talk..!
What to do, what to do?

Eat some Very Blue Pills called Chinese SuperMedicin ofcourse!

Too be continued...

Good Morning

I was on a Scandinavian Christmas Party Yesterday. It truly felt like Christmas Eve. A lot of people, a lot of happy kids, a lot of Scandinavian Christmas food (and a Christmas pizza), a lot of Christmas cookies, a lot of Christmas candy, Carolas Christmas Music, Bible stories, a beautiful Christmas three with real candles and a lot of love. Grateful.

This will be my first year celebrating Christmas without my family. I missed my family yesterday. Spent the night watching movies on my dearest once. Like this one:

Sis ans Cusin

Have to mention that the taxi driver that drove me to the Christmas Party sang for me all the way. That was strange, and nice. More singing taxi drivers in Sweden, thanks!
Its my turn to be in charge of the English Corner tonight. My subject is; "The end of the world."
Exciting.

To Spread Some Light In The Darkest Night

Ni Men Hao!

You know these morning when you wake up filled with joy thinking about your fantastic yesterday? These mornings are my favourites. This early Sunday morning is one of these mornings. Our Lucia Concert was great. I like to sing, I like to be on stage and I love Christmas, so a mix of these three things is a good combination for me. The best part of yesterday was after our performance thou.

Its a tradition here at Nordica to involve the audience in the Lucia Performance in the end. Every one in the audience get a lighted candle. Than they are following the Lucia outdoors walking around the neighbourhood to spread some light in Kunming. Wow, that feeling while walking in this huge line of people with candles... it was amazing! The whole neighbourhood stopped.

I wonder what the people were thinking? Some people might think we were some kind of sect. Some people might think we made some kind of rebellion. But I think and I hope, that some people could feel in their hearts that this is something good, something holy and something based on a mighty love.

Festival Celebration in the Miao Village

Yes, my friends; I'm giving you two posts today.
I finally have both time and Internet at the same time, so I better catch this opportunity.
This post is about last Sunday.

Who are the Miao People?
The Miao people are one of the 55 official minority groups in China. There are nearly 10 million Maio people in China. Most of the Miao people are living in the South of China. Our friends are living here in Yunnan, not too far away from my appartment. According to the Miao burial ritual called; "Show the way", Miao people can be traced to as early as the Shang Dynasty. The Shang Dynasty takes place 1600-1046 BC.

We were invited by our friends from the Miao Village to celebrate a festival with them. Still not sure what king of Festival we were celebrating, but never mind. They welcomed us with music, choirs and food. And we gave our thanks to them by singing some songs too. They liked it. At least I think they did. . . because we sang pretty good and they looked pretty happy.

And here comes, especially for you mummy, some pictures;

I Think The Reason Is My Delicious Glögg

The Christmas Fair Is Over

This weekend. . . Ooh GOSH, I don't know where to start? This weekend has been. . . big. Yea, that's a good description; My weekend has been big! This Christmas Fair was actually the biggest one Nordica ever experienced! We had more than 2000 people visiting us. That's 400 more people than the record! Isn't that fantastic? My boss think the reason is because TV was here filming. I think the reason is my delicious Glögg.

Yes, this is must be my third time on Chinese TV.
I'm kind of use to being on TV now. It doesn't feel like a big thing anymore.

KIDDING!
I think being on TV is SUPER COOL!

As I promised Ive been taking a lot of pictures.
I will let them describe my weekend. Its easier that way.

We had a Gingerbread House Lottery

Believe it or not, but this is going to be a lollipop!

Performances by The Stage group; Me, Ellen, Linnea and John.

 Our cutest Julia sold goodies like;
Homemade Apple pie and Saffron Buns

Rocking around the Barbecue with Ellen

There were hundreds of handicrafts. Here is some of them.

Our chef Tina was in charge of the Chinese food.

And that was all from The Very Important Glögg Girl.

I may add more pictures tomorrow. Gotta go to English Corner at Nordica. Today's topic is; Lucia.

To sum up: I have had a great weekend. Christmas Fair is very fun. . . but I'm happy its just once a year. Thank you for Checking out my blog.

Godmorning Cloudy Wednesday

There will be a huge Christmas market, Children activities, Barbecue, Waffle making, Special Christmas offers in the restaurant, Christmas candy, Lucia celebration, Swedish cafes, Free massage, Photo studio and Live performance on stage. Early on Sunday morning we are going to the Miao Village to celebrate something with them. I don't remember what it was. . . and I don't really care, celebrations use to be great anyway. ^^
More about that later.

As you might notice; I'm going to have a pretty busy weekend. That's why our nice teacher gave us a free day today. And what am I going to do on my free day?
